Activity

Follow the organization-wide feed of events and filter it by kind of record, event type and person.

The Activity page is a running feed of what has happened across your organization: work items created and moved, forms published, deals opened, documents shared and much more. Use it to catch up on what changed, to see what one person has been doing, or to follow one kind of event.

Where to find it#

Open Activity from the sidebar. The newest events are at the top.

Who can use it#

Permissions

activity.view
Every default role except Guest includes activity.view.

Read the feed#

Each entry shows:

  • the event type, such as work_item.created or form.published;
  • when it happened;
  • who did it, or System when UnitX did it itself;
  • the kind of record it concerns (the entity type) and the start of that record’s ID.

Activity records are never edited. If something is corrected, the correction appears as a new entry.

Filter the feed#

  1. Filter by kind of record

    Type an Entity type, such as work_item, document or form. It must match exactly.

  2. Filter by event

    Type an Event type, such as work_item.assigned or request.created. The easiest way to find the right name is to copy it from an entry in the unfiltered feed.

  3. Filter by person

    Choose someone under Actor to see only what they did.

  4. Page through

    The feed shows 25 entries at a time. Select Next page for older entries and Back to return. A badge shows which page you are on. Changing a filter starts again from the first page.

Note

Entity and event types are typed, not picked from a list, and must match exactly. If a filter returns nothing, check the spelling against an entry in the unfiltered feed.

Activity or audit trail?#

Activity is the story of your records, for the people working on them. The audit trail is your organization’s stricter, permanent record of who did what, from where, including before-and-after values and security events, and it is restricted to people with audit.view. To answer a compliance question, use the audit trail.

The history of a single record, such as a work item, is also shown on that record’s own page; see Work item details.

Questions#

Why does an entry show an ID instead of a name?

The person is no longer an active member, so their name can’t be looked up. The record of what they did is kept.

Can I filter by date or team?

Not on this page. Filter by entity type, event type and actor, and page back through time.

Can I delete an activity entry?

No. Activity is a permanent history.
