Introduction to UnitX

What UnitX is, what each area of the product does, and where to start reading.

UnitX is one workspace for the whole of an organization’s work: projects and tasks, goals, documents, customers, support, finance, people and the automations that tie them together. Instead of copying information between a task tracker, a CRM, an HR system and a wiki, everything lives in one place, with one set of members, roles and permissions.

What you can do with UnitX#

UnitX is organized into areas, each reachable from the sidebar. You only see the areas your role allows, so two people in the same organization can have quite different sidebars. The cards below lead to the main page of each area.

A short tour of each area#

Work#

Projects hold work items such as tasks and bugs. Each project has a short key prefix, so its items get readable keys like F3L-12. You can look at the same items as a list, a board or a timeline, plan them in sprints, and track the time spent on them. My Work gathers everything assigned to you across projects.

Planning#

Goals and OKRs describe what the organization is trying to achieve, and initiatives and portfolios group the projects that get it there. Resources shows who has capacity, and Reality compares what was planned with what is actually happening.

Docs & collaboration#

Write documents together, publish a knowledge base, keep files, talk in chat, schedule on the calendar, work from shared email and build presentations from live data.

CRM and support#

Track customers, contacts and opportunities through your sales pipeline, then look after those customers with support tickets, queues and service-level targets.

Commerce#

Maintain products and price books, send quotes, turn them into orders and invoices, and record payments and expenses. Commerce is what your organization charges its customers; Billing is what your organization pays for UnitX.

People#

The people directory and org chart show who works where. HR features cover leave, attendance, timesheets, performance reviews, recruiting and payroll.

Automation#

Automations run “when this happens, do that” rules, workflows move work through stages, approvals collect sign-off, and forms and requests bring work in from colleagues and the public.

Analytics#

Dashboards and reports summarize data from every area. The activity feed shows what changed, and the audit trail keeps a tamper-evident record for administrators.

Administration and integrations#

Administrators manage members, teams, roles, single sign-on and branding from Settings. Integrations and the marketplace connect UnitX to the other tools you use, and migrations bring your data in from them.

What you see depends on your role

Every screen and button in UnitX is controlled by a permission. If a colleague mentions an area you cannot find in your sidebar, your role does not include it. Ask an administrator of your organization. Roles and permissions explains how this works.
